Our 6-hour Adult Drivers Education course has been approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) (License #C3042). You can take the written exam online and print your ADEE-1317 completion certificate. It is not necessary for you to take the written exam in person at the DPS office; you can work at your own pace.
All newly licensed drivers in Texas who are under the age of eighteen are required to complete a state-certified, 14-hour behind-the-wheel course. If you have already obtained your learner permit, you are ready for the required 14 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction from your parent or legal guardian. This course provides step-by-step instructions for a parent or guardian to perform the 14 hours of behind-the-wheel training as part of the Parent Taught course.
Please be advised that this In-Car only course is part of our Parent-Taught Driver’s Ed program. Because of this, the course that is offered on this page is only intended for students who completed their education at a school that does not take part in the Parent-Taught program.
